Employers must do more to reassure their workforce
Research carried out by NOP and commissioned by Johnson Controls reveals that only a thrid of employees know that their employer is putting in place measures to protect them against perceived terrorist threats.
Across a sample of 522 workers from various sectors around the UK, only 177 have seen or heard that their employer is taking steps to protect them. Mike Britnell, director of security programmes Europe, believes employers can do more:
"Businesses need to reassure their people that they are taking measures to protect the workforce. In reality, the threat to most corporates has not increased significantly.
What has changed is our perception of the threat and as a result, some employees have changed their view on what is an acceptable risk".
