the rapiscan 618 is a compact, lightweight and ergonomic conveyor X-ray scanner designed to inspect briefcases, purses, backpacks, mailbags, trays and parcels.

the rapiscan 618 is designed and developed for the screening of small parcels and bags in mailrooms, prisons, courthouses, government buildings, schools, hospitals and corporate offices.

the tunnel opening of 55 x 35 cm was specifically designed to accommodate the majority of parcels to be easily examined. the system uses a high-resolution X-Ray detector array for improved image presentation and increased automatic threat detection.

the rapiscan 618 is a pc based system that incorporates latest electronic technology in an enhanced modular design. The unit utilizes a high speed computer that implements advanced complex algorithms in real-time operation

health and safety

rapiscan x-ray systems are certified to be in full compliance with all international radiation safety requirements and external emissions limits. Typical leakage radiation is less than 0.1 mR/hr compared to a maximum of 0.5 mR/hr permitted. all astroscan units are issued with a certified radiation safety and critical examination report upon installation.
