scanmax quick troubleshooting guide
This document is intended as a quick troubleshooting guide for Scanmax x-ray units. These details are to supplement the trouble-shooting guide in the Operators Manual and are not intended to replace the Technical Support Documentation available from Scanna MSC.
| Problem | Action |
| Door not closing properly | Care must be taken when placing objects inside the inspection chamber. It is possible to hit the door catch with the package and disturb the arm. If it becomes immediately clear that has happened it is possible to lever it back up with a screwdriver. Failing this Door catch will have to be replaced. |
| Green Ready light not illuminating |
a. Check the interlock switches by opening the top cover (4 screws) and ensure that the door striker plate is operating all three of the switches, adjust if necessary b. Circuit breaker on controller: It is possible after a voltage surge that the circuit breaker mounted on Controller board has tripped.Open the rear panel, this will automatically remove the mains supply from the circuit. Locate the white arm on the circuit breaker and press in. Close the rear door and check the unit, if it trips again follow the instructions in 4 below.

| Lamps flashing | If the indicator lamps flash there has been a failure of one or more lamps that will not be flashing. Replace the LED. Switch off the unit at the mains before switching on and checking the operation of the unit. |
| X-rays only coming on for about 1 - 2 sec and then cut out. | It is possible that after the circuit breaker has been reset that the tube current is set too high and will trip again. Full adjustment details are attached however as a short-term measure adjust the mA potentiometer RV1 in small increment anti clockwise (about ¼ turn each time) and check to see if the x-rays are generated for the correct period and an image obtained. The full Controller adjustment should be checked as detailed in the technical support documentation. |
