IRR17 (Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017) Awareness Training
Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 Awareness
This course gives delegates a good base of knowledge of the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17). Each delegate will be provided with a copy of the IRR17 Approved Code of Practice and the session will work through the code in an interactive workshop session. Under the general principles of radiation protection, subject matter such as the production of risk assessments and demonstration of ALARP will be discussed. Other areas covered are designation of areas, management of radiation protection, dose monitoring and control of radioactive substances.
This session will focus on meeting the requirements of the regulations in the workplace, and common practices will be discussed, with practical examples used throughout the course, taking full advantage of the experience of the previous RPA presenting the course.
This course is important for Radiation Protection Supervisors (RPS’s) who have additional responsibilities which mean they require more knowledge on the regulations than that provided in a standard RPS course.
