5 steps to Good Mailroom Security
Mailroom Security doesn’t need to be complex. It’s all about implementing common-sense measures in our day to day mailhandling.
There are 5 basic areas that need to be covered:
1. Threat awareness
2. Well trained and alert staff
3. Routine mailscreening (manual and/or electronic)
4. A sound and well rehearsed Mail Security Plan (your responses to postal threats)
5. Good communications within the company and with outside expert security personnel.
It is the responsibility of Mailroom staff to be able to recognise potential hazards in the mail and it is everyone’s duty to ensure that we and our colleagues are safe at work.
